You can move using the arrow keys and interact with the world using E!

(please avoid using E while dialogue is active though, it may open the dialogue window up again)

~This little game was made for the Winter Melon Jam 2023 ~

The theme is: Charm

You play as a cat, blessed by a weird narrator with the power to charm just about anyone! Will you use your power for good or for ill? Will you find yourself a loving family or seek greater power? The choice is in your paws.

See what lies inside the hearts of your targets and sneak your way inside in order to charm them!

Unfortunately I didn't manage to complete all of it yet, only the first stage is done. All because of poor time management, I assure you. After the jam is over I'll probably come back and finish it, I find it pretty charming.

~Credits~

All of the art and programming was made entirely within the timeframe of the jam (3 days)

Many thanks to Bit By Bit Sound for the soundtrack "Origins". This is where I got it from: https://bit-by-bit-sound.itch.io/16-bit-starter-pack

Fonts:

The font I used throughout most of the game is called Proggy Tiny, here is where I got it from: https://fontmeme.com/fonts/proggy-tiny-font/

The font I used for the title is mostly inspired from a font called Upheaval: https://fontmeme.com/fonts/upheaval-font/

Apologies for the awful pixel art, I'm very new at it, and at game dev in general. I'd really like to hear your thoughts on what I've made so far so that I may improve.

You can interact with things even inside dialogue, which then opens up more dialogue windows. Great game btw!

Yes, I noticed that bug after the jam ended. I can't believe I didn't notice it sooner. I'll have it fixed when we can modify our game builds.

Also, I'm glad to hear you enjoyed the game!

Amazing Game, soothing music, and guess what an incredible way of story telling... My only suggestion is to add WASD movement! Overall 4.9

Thanks a lot for the feedback, I'm glad you enjoyed it! I did intend to use wasd movement but I forgot to add it by the time we had to submit the games. I'll definitely add it once we can modify our game builds.
